If you’re selling your cans to the German market, it’s crucial to follow the German deposit system (DPG) rules.
Since you can order your digitally printed cans with the necessary DPG label from our Platform, we’re here to help you understand the process and any potential restrictions.
Steps to Obtain Cans with the DPG Label:
Sampling:
- Download a dedicated Template: Use a special template with a DPG label placeholder.
- Request a Sample: Request your sample as usual and in the "Deposit System Label" field select "German Deposit System Label (DPG)".
- Sample Approval: After receiving your sample, approve it to move forward with order placement.
Ordering:
- Once the sample is approved, you can proceed with ordering.
- GTIN: During adding your cans to the cart, you'll have to provide GTIN for every sample variant with DPG label that you add to the cart. One GTIN can be associated with multiple sample variants. (The GTIN, or Global Trade Item Number, is an identifier in the normal product bar code and also used to manage and track products within the deposit system.)
- After placing the order, you will be requested to approve our quote. With the same message, you will get an Order Authorisation document (Bestellberechtigung), which you'll need to fill out, sign and send back to us so we can order the DPG labels.
- The subsequent ordering and production process will be the same as for non-DPG cans
⚠️ Please keep in mind, that:
- Minimum Order Quantity Applies: The minimum order for cans with the DPG mark is 5000 cans per sample variant.
- Costs of DPG labeled cans: +0.025€ per DPG can and 30.00€ for Artwork Setup Fee (per GTIN).
- DPG Registration: You must be registered with DPG to proceed with ordering DPG labeled cans.
- Label Ordering: We will take care of ordering the labels for you. Unfortunately, you cannot provide the labels yourself.
- Extra Labels: To accommodate any potential scrap, we will order some additional labels beyond your initial requirement.
